On 18th Sept which was a Friday, we left KL for Singapore. We took a short detour before leaving to Singapore and left KL around 2.30pm. Drove through KL traffic heading towards the SMART tunnel and after that we used the E2 highway to Tuas checkpoint in Singapore. On the early part of the journey, man, the highway was jammed up! All three lanes were subject to a bumper-to-bumper crawl for more than 1/2 hour. There were even a few accidents along the way. I would probably say that the jam was due to people heading back to their hometowns for Hari Raya (that weekend was Hari Raya). E2 is the designated road number for the southern part of the North-South Highway (NSH) from KL to JB. We didn't go all the way to JB, instead we took a turn somewhere around km 27 on E2 to another highway which led us to the Tuas checkpoint. Reached the Malaysian immigration checkpoint around 7pm.
